First Philippine Open Source Conference slated in June

Linux Conference 99: The First Philippine Open Source Conference will be held on June 9 to 11 at the Shangri-La Hotel Manila. The three-day event will feature one-day tutorials, various tracks, plenary sessions and exhibitions. Maximizing and applying Linux and other Open Source software to the Philippine environment, solving multi-faceted programming and/or dilemmas through Linux and other Open Source Systems, and finding an effective alternative OS especially during an economic crisis are this year's themes. CEOs, CIOs, MIS managers, corporate decision makers and entrepreneurs, programmers, IT consultants, technical specialists, sales and marketing managers, government officers, educators, and students specializing in IT and programming are among the event's target audience and participants.

Miguel Paraz of IPhil Communications, one of the sponsors of the event, is kind enough to give WIRED! Philippines permission to reprint the Local Free Software Enthusiasts Answer Frequently Asked Questions about Linux
