What a July!

The month when the bright, beautiful and healthy battled and marked this year’s nutrition month celebration of San Jose National High School, July 3-27.

With the theme “Healthy Lifestyle ng Kabataan, Landas sa Kinabukasan” poster-making contest started the celebration. It was conducted, July 5-6. Ericson Amante of 1-C emerged victorious among all participants in the different levels.

Nutri- Quiz Bee was conducted, July 12 and 18, to test the students’ knowledge regarding proper nutrition and essential nutrients. Monique Hayashi won among first year students, Ashley Brucal emerged victorious among second year students, Ric Franco Tolentino became the champion among fourth year participants.

Search for Mr. And Ms. Nutrition was held, July 26. In this beauty contest, beauty, talent and brain were judged. Archie Bautista of 2-F and Jenky Pagaran of 4-A were crowned Mr. and Ms. Nutrition 2007. Together with this event, nutri-jingle contest was held to show the students’ intelligence in music and choreography. The group of ten boys from 4-A amazed the judge as well as the audience; consequently, they bagged first place.

Cooking contest was also held, July 27. Each participant showed his/her skill in cooking. The following groups of students emerged winners in their respective categories: 1-H for corn soup, 2-b for tahada, 3-A for talongghetti and 4-B for buko-pancit.

Nutrition month celebration turned out to be a successful event due to the cooperation among T.L.E. teachers and the hard work exerted by Ms. Shirley Basan, T.L.E. coordinator.
