ABOUT THE COMMUNITY:

Barangay San Jose is located along the eastern part of the city with the distance of 3.8 kilometers from the city proper with Christ the King Monument at the patio of the Roman Catholic Cathedral as it's reference point.

According to the soil survey analysis, the land of Barangay San Jose falls under Class "B" which means the supply of nutrients such us phosphorous and potassium and organic matter are moderately high. Permeability is moderate and moisture retention is moderate. This soil is highly suitable to any perennial crops.

It has a total land area of 1,852.89 heactares covering 8.66% of the total land area of the city.

Areas of about 50 meters on both sides of Barangay road of San Jose is classified as residential area. Other existing built-up areas or barangay sites not situated along the road are light industrial zone. This is based in the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the City of San Pablo, ORD. 28, s, 2000.

Barangay San Jose is bounded on the northwest by Barangay Concepcion, on the northeast by Barangay Sta.Isabel and San Diego, on the south to southeast by Barangay Sto. Niño to Sta. Elena, and on the southwest by Barangay Sto. Niño to San Ignacio.

Barangay San Jose has no definite season. Rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year. It is relatively dry from November to April and wet during the rest of the year. It has a weather favorable to production, not only to traditional food crops like rice and corn, but also some fruit trees that rarely grow abundantly in other parts of the country like lanzones and rambutan.
