1. DEMOGRAPHY

In May & June 2000, the National Statistic Office (NSO) conducted the 2000 census of population and housing, more popularly know as Census 2000 . This nationwide undertaking is the 11th Population Census and the 5th Housing Census conducted in the country. As of year 200 Barangay San Isidro has an actual population of 2,912. For the year 2004, it has a project population of 3612.

2. LABOR FORCE

A huge number of professionals reside in this area consisting of nurse, teachers, professors and employees from private and government offices.M

Workers like carpenters, factory workers, drivers, tricyle operations and drivers, and common laborers serve as the backbone of human resources.

There were also Overseas Filipino Workers from this Barangay working in different parts of the world.

3.RELIGION

One of the religous buildings in Barangay San Isidro is the Roman Catholic chapel located in Purok 3. The other religious building in this barangay is the chapel of Born Again Christian Chapel in Purok 5.

The Roman Catholic dominates in number having 80% of its population. Other religious sect are Iglesia ni Cristo, and Born Again Christian.

4.EDUCATION

Education is one of the major priorities of the government. In baranggay San Isidro, the local government supported the program by establishing a national high school, elementary school, and a day care center that gave opportunity to its resident and neigthboring barangays to have formal education with lesser expenses and risks for children in travel going to the City

A. School Buildings

A.1.San Isidro Day Care center

A semi concrete building located besides the barangay hall serve as the day care center where children aged 3-6 years old were cared and prepared for formal education in line with the government program known as Day Care Center Program or the Montessori ng Masa.

A.2.San Isidro Elementary School

San Isidro Elementary School was established on March 1957 situated in Purok 3. At present 8 units of classroom needs to nbe repaired because of the defective walls and roofing which gives inconvenience to students especially during rainy days.

A.3. SAN ISIDRO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

The San Isidro National High School was established in June 16,2005 situated in purok 2 as the part of the program of the local government to bring higher level of education to the rural areas of the city and at the same time to minimize traffic congestions in the City proper.

B. ENROLLMENT

Five hundred forty nine (549) pupils are enrolled in San Isidro Elementary School, Two Hundred Thirty Seven (237) pupils in San Isidro National High School and 21 children in the Day Care CEnter for the School Year 2004-2005.

HEALTH

A. Health Facilities

A room at the San Isidro multi-purpose hall located at Purok 2 serves as the barangay health center that was utilized by the City Health Offfice in administering the medical needs of the residents.

C. TOILET FACILITIES

80% on the households have water-sealed latrine, 10% have flush type, while 10% of of the total number of households still do not have toilet.

D.METHOD OF GARBAGE DISPOSAL

The most common method of garbage disposal in San Isidro is putting garbage in an open pit then burn. The barangay borrows a prite owned elf type truck to dispose the collected garbage in the barangay.

The covered basketball court is the only sports facility in Barangay San Isidro that also serves as venue for programs and other activities.
