A. Geographical Location
Liliw is one of the highland towns forming the southern extremity of the province of Laguna. It is located 100 kilometers from Metro Manila via Sta. Cruz and 105 kilometers via San Pablo City. The municipality is bounded on the northeast by Magdalena (Laguna), on the northwest by Sta. Cruz, Laguna, on the west by Nagcarlan (Laguna), on the east by Majayjay (Laguna) and on the south by Dolores (Quezon).
Area
It has a total land area of 5,680.65 hectares and composed of 33 barangays. The poblacion has area of 23.31 hectares.
TOPOGRAPHY
The municipality of Liliw, resembles the island province of Palawan in shape. It is situated on a hilly plain 1,200 ft. above sea level overlooking a great plain sloping gradually downwards toward the shores of Laguna Lake.
DEMOGRAPHY POPULATION
The total population as of 1995 is 24,550 and is distributed to the urban area which is the poblacion and to different barangay of the municipality. About 9,338 of the population lived in the poblacion while the remaining 15,212 are in the barangays.
AGRICULTURE
Agricultural has been one of the traditional economic base of Liliw aside from cottage industries and will continue to be a significant segment in the municipality's economic development. The total agricultural area is 4,341.85 hectares which is 76.43 % of the total land area.
