SEELENSEFERL*
“ The Lord hates cheating and delights in honesty. “ Prov. 11:1
The election last Monday except for minor hitches went smoothly as expected. Here in Laguna, particularly in San Pablo the election was tainted by vote-buying.
* * * * *
This vote-buying was witnessed by yours truly which happened in our barangay. Lots of money was given away by this dirty fat man. The price is one hundred pesos. It was around 2:30 in the afternoon that this shameful thing happened.
* * * * *
Mr. Fat man, in case you don’t know is a member of an organization here in San Pablo. An orgy that concerns itself in assisting in easing our jampacked streets.
* * * * *
Seelenseferl is the correct term for those who buy votes just to win. They’re soul suckers. They will suffer eternal damnation for the sins they committed against GOD.
* * * * *
An altercation occured in one of the precints in Brgy. San Miguel in Alaminos. According to our informant, a barangay official tried to meddle in the election officers’ business. Thank God he was not succesful.
* * * * *
The power supply was temporarily halted in all of Alaminos for at least three minutes. I was in Brgy. San Ildefonso when it happened. The teachers and the barangay tanods were very alert. They have reacted to the situation very nicely.
* * * * *
To Presley and Jepoy of Alarma News, thank you very much. It’s nice working with you. To Grace Batangantang of Brgy. San Ildefonso, thank you for your assistance. I hope there would be more like you who are helpful and at the same time beautiful.
* Seelenseferl: soul suckers

Aliw...beinte

Things under the sun
Mr. Ariel "Joshua" G. Paran

The verdict
A tree bears no different fruits” is a statement we commonly hear from someone who tries to justify his strong inclination for harmful gossiping. Naturally, a mango tree cannot produce grape fruits. Interestingly, however, although since time immemorial many adhere in the validity of the aforementioned statement and use it as an effective tool to bring out an uncalled judgement, I found it considerably fallacious as an analogy for human personality.
Psychologists all over the world believe that no two individuals, even the twins, do have the same personality. One therefore is distinctly different from his parents. He may have some notable similarities with anyone of his kin but such is not enough to brand him as a replica of another. There is no point of comparison available. And ignorance of it can only be seen from those who, until this alarmingly uncertain modern times, remain enchained into their false assumptions of things.
Let me give you a graphic illustration of my simple assumption: a tree bears the same fruits, that is very cruel, but doesn’t anyone notice that from the same tree all the fruits do not look alike nor taste the same. Some fruits fall before they could be harvested and consumed; some grow considerably smaller than the rest; some taste bitter, while other tastes better. If that is true of a tree, could that be untrue of human? Besides, should Peter suffer the same humiliation his father did? Should he likewise be blamed for his forefathers’ mistake of which he has not the faintest obligation?
I believe that what makes one so inclined to judge another on the basis of his kin’s standard or whatever is that he is a goasipper and nothing else. I don’t think it makes him wise! A wise man is he who never intervenes in anyone else’s life, in whatever manner, for the sake of having someone discredited.
As far as I know, no one, no matter how low and great he may be, is ever at liberty to make judgement for after all no one is so righteous and divine. But a gossip-monger sets this reality aside simply to affirm his unwillingness to refrain from his gossipy character. This common crime is committed by almost everybody; but nobody can be made to admit guilt of it.
An ordinary person who is found guilty of it is somewhat forgiveable for reason of their lack of formal education, although the lack of the same should not be an excuse for it. But an educated man who enjoys practising it is unquestionably inadmissible in their own respective rank. For how can a learned man find enjoyment in this discriminatory endeavor?—the same undertaking that formal education tries to detach from our personality.
In simple recapitulation, everyone should disallow the entrance of the corrupting image of a gossipy spirit in him! Or else his personality shall be continuously disgraced by it. But the first step to do it is through acceptance of its guilt — something which we never easily admit.So the people may know well what DPWH is doing for them.
