More job opportunities for Caviteños seen

"At the height of our present economic success, we, in Cavite, assertive in continuously enhancing and maintaining our reputations as the country's leading growth center as businessman and investors continue to locate economic zones eventually generating more employment for our people”, Gov. Bong Revilla said in an interview in connection with the job Fair Program he is launching for the resident of Cavite.
The provincial Job Fair dubbed as “TRABAHO PARA SA KABITENYO” will be formally launched through the joint efforts of the Region IV Office of the Department of Labor and Employment and the Cavite Provincial Employment and Manpower Development Committee in coordination with the Office of theProvincial Governor on 28 April 1998 at the Provincial Capitol Site in Trece Martires City at eight o’clock in the morning.
A short program to usher this event will be staged prior to the conduct of a mass orientation for the participants composed of approximately 200 qualified, trained, highly motivated and competitive job applicants.
Various commercial and industial establishments in Cavite have already confirmed of their assistance, suport and cooperation in the full promotion and implementation of this livelihood development program. Among them are the HS Craft Manufacturing Corporation, Travel Manufacturers, Global Lighting, Rohm Electronic Phils. Inc., Onda Button Group, Phil. Dairy Products Inc., Cottrel Network Phils. Inc., Philips Export Industries Inc., CS Garment Inc., Maxim Phils. Inc., SM City Bacoor, Walter Mart, and EEI Corporation.
Cavite Governor Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., Dir. Alex Maraan of DOLE Region IV, Mr. Claus Sudhoff, President of the Cavite Export Zone Investors Association, Human Resource Managers and Supervisors from various industrial firms will lead in the formal launching ceremonies and orientation conference on the said date.
“We, in the Provincial Government, always see to it that poverty alleviation as a major component of the Social Reform agenda is consistently attended to. We just cannot afford to sit down, talk and plan for our people. We must also act wisely and work together to respond to their urgent call. Everyone needs some “fish” on the table but as the Chinese saying goes, “We cannot always give some fish to a man. It’s better to teach him how to fish”. “This livelihood development program, “Trabaho Para sa Kabitenyo”, I’m sure will enable our jobseekers to catch more fish”, Gov. Bong Revilla wittingly said. Cavite's Bike Patrol hit the road

Cavite’s BIKE PATROL which is component of the Traffic Enforcement Branch of the Cavite PNP headed by Supt. Silverio Alarcio Jr, Provincial Director hits the road on April 20, 1998 following the induction of its members by Cavite Governor Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., infront of the Provincial Capitol Building in the Trece Martires City.
Numbering thirty and under the supervision and control of Senior Inspector Regalado Palmares with the assistance of SPO2 Nestor Nicosa, the group will assist in maintaining the smooth flow of the traffic in Cavite’s major highways and thoroughfares where bottlenecks are frequent as along the Aguinaldo Highway near SM Bacoor, the toll bridge in Imus and Palico, Langkaan in Dasmarinas and at the EPZA AREA in Rosario.
The group is the latest creation of Governor Revilla to solve the traffic problems affecting motorist and commuters plying the said route. In this short message to the members of the bike patrol, Governor Revilla stressed the need to make Cavite’s roads free of traffic jams in order to hasten the province’s progress and development.
Governor Revilla also called on the members to do their respective duties religiously and efficiently for the welfare of the general public. ‘We are doing everything to make our province a comfortable and safe place to live in and we need the cooperation and participation of brave men like you who are willing to take the risk of going out amidst the jungle of modern machines and put order and maintain traffic safety on our road and highways. Your answer to our call to this end is something great and worthy of emulation,” said Governor Revilla.
The members of the Bike Patrol were issued proper uniform, helmets, radios and other safety gadgets for their effective operations. They will also received compensation from the Provincial Government as sponsored by Governor Revilla. The bike patrol members in their orange and black uniforms willbe seen in the road as early as sixi o’clock in the morning till ten o’clock in the evening.

Bong's covenant with workers

The statue of covenant by Cavite Governor Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. with workers will be erected on May 5 at 6 p.m. at the Cavite Export Processing Zone in Rosario, Cavite.
“We must protect and uphold the rights of workers. Through their sweat the present progress of the province was realized,” said Revilla.
The centennnial covenant with workers was organized by Ugnayan ng mga Manggagawa at Gobernador para sa Kagalingan ng Kilusang Paggawa (Umigpaw Ka) at the CEPZ.
Revilla’s wife, actress Lani Mercado, and other TV and movie stars will grace the occasion.

Revilla urges continued support for clean and green

CAVITE Governor Bong Revilla, Jr. urged heads of local government units (LGU’s) to continue their support to the clean and green drive of the provincial government in line with the program of the First Lady Amelita “Ming” Ramos.
At the launching of the search for the cleanest and greenest LGU’s in Cavite for 1998 at the provincial capitol in Trece Martires City, Revilla said thay presservation of the environment must not be neglected in the pursuit of industrialization and modernization.
Simultaneously held were the awarding ceremonies for the 1996 and 1997 cleanest and greenest LGU winners in the province.
“The industrialization and progress the province has so far attained will backfire on us if we do not take care of our natural resources and the environment,” Revilla, chairman of the Provincial Search Committee, said.
“Let us plant trees. Let’s make our surroundings green. Let us not destroy our river and surrounding by throwing wates,” he added.
Before the launching of the awarding ceremonies, a tree-planting activity at the vicinity of the provincial capitol was led by Revilla’s wijfe actress Lani Mercado, honorary vice chairman of the Provincial Search Committee.
Winners for the cleanest and greenest municipalities, Category “A”, are: Best performer, Imus, 1996 and 1997 ; First runner-up, Naic, 1996 and Silang, 1997; Second Runner-up, Dasmarinas, 1996 and Naic, 1997.
Category “B”. Best Performer, Magallanes, 1996 and Maragondon, 1997; First Runner-up, Gen. Aguinaldo, 1996 and Magallanes 1997; Second Runner-up, Maragondon, 1996 and Gen. Aguinaldo, 1997.
Winners for cleanest inland bodies of water are Siloy River in Indang, Cavite for 1996 and Tala River in Gen. Aguinaldo for 1997. (PIO)
